Hi Ron,
I was going to photograph the sunrise on Winter Solstice morning but I may not get to do that. We are getting hit with a blizzard, here in Colorado.
I have an idea about sharing the experience of seeing the sunrise over a twelve month span. My home makes me feel like one of the Anasazi who lived in Chaco Canyon. I'm able to track the sun as it moves about on the Eastern horizon. I think it's cool and want to share it with my friends.
But today the order of business, at least for the birds, is surviving the storm.
We put out sunflower seed regularly so we have made friends with the local birds.
Here is a Junco looking for food. (Remember, you can enlarge the image by clicking on it).

The wind feels cold to me. It ruffles their feathers and I wonder if they are cold too.

Red Winged Black birds gather en masse here and startle easily.

If you are in the storm, take care and stay warm. Heck, take care and stay warm wherever you are.
Gene
p.s. I know Solstice is a couple of days off and the storm may be over by then but you take dramatic effect wherever you can scrounge it up. :-)
